Why was it dangerous to take a stand against the british?

Because at that time, Britain had the largest empire in the world, and were very disciplined. They also had an EXTREMELY well trained army (redcoats). They had stopped lots of revolts like in in India.

The only reason America won the Revolution was because Britain was small so they had to rise taxes in all their countries, but they weren't large enough to train enough men to defeat the whole of America.
