Can you drive a boat if you have a boaters license?

If you have a boating license you are definetly allowed to drive a boat.. answer seems pretty common sense. I dont know why you would aquire a license to drive a boat and not do so... but hey, I guess its better than asking if you can drive a car with a boating license I suppose. which would make even less sense. oh well happy trolling the answer.com site with questions like this.
