To get the slope, you would have to do

If you had two pairs of coordinates from a graph, the coordinates would be

(X1, Y1) and (X2, Y2)

For example, if you had the coordinate pairs (1,2) and (3,4)

Your X1 would be 1, and your Y1 would be 2.

So when you follow the equation

you would get

4-2

3-1

When you simplify, you would get 2/2 or 1.

So your slope would be 1.

Also, if you have an equation in Slope-Intercept Form, y=mx+b, your slope would be m.
