What happen exotic pets escape or released into the wild?

If you release a wild exotic animal where if does not live naturally it would through off the food chain. An example is if you release a Boa (snake) where it doesn't normally live. It could eat cats, small dogs ect. and throw off the food chain. The snake would get bigger and lose its fear of humans eventually, and could attack a small child.
