How does the girls know a boy has a crush on her?

The best way to tell in my opinion, is this(I'm a guy); To know if a guy likes you, his personal space will not apply to you. This means, that if you sit close to him (as in legs touching) if he likes you, he won't move away from the contact. This holds true for both genders.
