What is R 500 refrigerant?

R-500 refrigerant is a blend of refrigerants R-12 (dichlorodifluoromethane) and R-152a (1,1-difluoroethane) used primarily in refrigeration systems. It has a low boiling point and is effective in low-temperature applications. However, due to environmental concerns regarding ozone depletion and global warming potential, R-500 is being phased out in favor of more eco-friendly alternatives.
