All of the Ebay alternatives besides Amazon have a smaller base and less traffic, I've used most of them ioffer, ebidz, ubid, artfire, ruby lane, etsy, newegg and you can get some sales but truthfully why would you not do what wal mart and all the other stores do after investing millions in research. If you sold an item on a smaller site and someone interested found it and it was a little less money, many would still pay a little more to get it off of Ebay for comfort and trust issues. It's human nature. They want to feel protected and Ebay pretty much guarantees a buyer can't get burned. If I was unhappy with an Ebay purchase, I could force you to refund me and you couldn't do a thing about it-and that's the truth and why i would spend a little more to get my items there.

Many who look on Ebay will also do an internet search for the item to see who else has it. There is nothing to stop you from paying 10.00 for hosting and having your own site. Templates and shopping cart systems are all free, you can take pp for free and get a gateway for ccs.

The last co i worked for I ran 5 of their sites-4 were on Ebay and one was theirs. My sales were 250,000.00 per day but you don't have to take any of my advice if you can do better.
