What was the concern of James as it related to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ?

The Bible tells us that during Jesus' ministry where He preached the Gospel or Good News of the Coming Kingdom of God, His earthly brothers which included James, the writer of the 'Epistle of James' and the first bishop of the Jerusalem Church of God, did not believe in Him being the 'Son of God' and the promised Messiah (see John 7:3-5). This apparently continued through the Crucifixion, Resurrection and Ascension until the 1st Pentecost and God's release of His Holy Spirit upon all gathered in the room (see Acts 1:14). Thereafter, James went from just another skeptic to a fierce follower of Jesus, the Messiah - even dying for Him.

James fully supported the Gospel message of the Kingdom as did all the other Apostles and disciples of Christ. It is shown here in his writing:

5 Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

James is most remembered for his stance of 'empty works' for the new Christian. Perhaps this is what you are thinking about and if so, you should ask another question.
