I am an experienced Pokemon player, and I can honestly tell you that the ultimate party depends on your personal preference. Whether you utilize mainly offensive moves, defensive moves, status moves, or a mix, the Pokemon best for you differs. Analyze your battle style and your move preference, and choose Pokemon that you like and that you have a high success rate with. I myself have an offensive battle style, so I choose Pokemon that have high attack stats and powerful moves. I also would like to add that having a balance of Pokemon types is also good. Try to keep one of each type of Pokemon in your party. The main Pokemon types are: Fire, Electric, Flying, Water/Ice, Grass, and Dragon.
