Cell phones in 1998 we large and heavy with a short lived Nickel Cadmium battery and analog technology. No text messaging and a black and white dim screen.
2008 digital phones are brilliant like a flashlight, take video and still pictures, features on-line internet performance all from a small Lithium Ion battery.
My computer in 1998 had Windows98, which was good. The hard drive was a blazing 700MB, memory was 64 meg ram and the mother board screamed at at 250 MHz. Typical, 56 KB dial up access and very primitive video.
Toady's Windows XP is many times faster than days gone by, clocking in at 3GHZ. An out of site gigabyte hard drive and mach 2 ram, very good video is standard fare. Most Internet connections are now made with nic cards at 2 to 15 plus megabit.
