Wireless computer connections allow computers to connect to a network and use network resources (or access the internet) without having to connect to a router by Ethernet cable. The advantage of this is mobility. Wireless connections are typically slower than cable so you do sacrifice speed for convenience. It is also easier to connect a large number of computers in a large area (where wires would be impractical to run) more easily. This technology works best in open areas. Also, the farther away from the Wireless Access Point the computer is the slower the throughput (i.e. the connection) will be.
