How do you set timing on 1999 polaris sportsman?

There is a bolt to check it on the recoil housing. Remove bolt that is at about 1 o-clock position on cover and check with timing light, mark should be at "V" in housing. I do not know about adjusting it though. Hope this helps. It is common for the exhaust lobes to wear out on the camshaft on some of these.
