Do gray whales eat plankton

Gray whales primarily feed on benthic organisms rather than plankton. They use a unique feeding method called "bottom feeding," where they scoop up sediment from the ocean floor and filter out small crustaceans, amphipods, and other invertebrates. While they may unintentionally consume some plankton while feeding, it is not a significant part of their diet.
