Ozone, in the correct amounts in the atmosphere, protects the Earth from Ultraviolet and Gamma radiation from the Sun. At one time, many years ago, the ozone layer was thought to be disappearing but in the last few years it has begun to recover itself, possibly due the the decrease in use of chlorofluorocarbons

Burning Methane gives off huge amounts of Carbon Dioxide that may be causing Global Warming.
