What laws are protecting children from child abuse?

In the United States, child abuse is illegal under federal and state laws. The Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) provides federal funding to states for prevention, assessment, investigation, prosecution, and treatment activities related to child abuse and neglect.
