Why is the air conditioning unit not blowing cold air?

there are a number of reasons: 1) unit could be out of refrigerant because of a leak in the system. 2) an electrical component in the outdoor section has failed, e.g. contactor, transformer. 3) compressor is failing or has failed. 4) thermostat is not set to cooling, or is not set properly.
