The temperature of Crystal Light would not affect a person. It should not be deadly at any temperature. I've heard that Aspartame releases formaldehyde when heated, but I don't know how tried and true this is. Some say the research that backs this up create levels that far exceed what would be found in human foods. And despite health concerns about ingesting formaldehyde, the truth is that small amounts are found in other, unprocessed, foods in nature such as shitake mushrooms. If it puts your mind at ease, the FDA has approved aspartame for foods that are heated, and it is even present in baked goods. However, all science aside, I don't recommend drinking it warm. I use the Walmart version of Crystal Light, and I've noticed that if a glass is left out or reused throughout the day, a very bad chemical taste and smell develops. As a result, I've reduced my intake and have switched over to unsweetened teas, watered down fruit juices, or water with lemon. I don't enjoy the taste of tap water without some kind of flavoring, and bottled water is just too expensive to purchase on a regular basis.
