What are advantages disadvantages of community colleges?

Advantages of community college: * less expensive way to earn college credits for all those non-major courses you'll have to take anyway (English, Math, Sociology, Physical Education, etc.)

* usually within an acceptable commute from home so you save on paying for housing and board * since you can commute from home, you may be able to hold on to that part-time job you like and take classes * If you struggled in high school and didn't have the grade point average for the college you really wanted, community college gives you a second chance at earning those grades and re-applying.
