What is the ceremony of pratishtha?

It is a traditional Jain ceremony consecrating at least one Tirthankara pratima. A Tirthankar is a person who achieves enlightenment and then becomes a role model for others seeking enlightenment. A pratima is a religious symbol that can take the form of a painting, sculpture, statue, etc. After the ceremony, the symbol becomes an object of the newly enlightened person and an artifact to be worshipped.
