What is the relationship between democracy and power sharing?

Democracy is the government; of the people, for the people and by the people as Abraham Lincoln said. People are the fountain for all powers for the government and people representatives as it is the public, which elect their representatives to run the country and government. Public is responsible to give verdict over policies of government, behave and role of their representatives. While Power Sharing is a process of distributing power between different groups or parties to give them proper representation and run country with the consensus of all with peace and positive approach. Power Sharing is an element of democratic politics, an aspect to make a democracy powerful with representation and equal importance to all distinct people and groups.
