How valuable are us dollar coins?

From one dollar to Millions depending on date, mintmark, condition and mintage.

Nearly anything dated 1971 or later will only be worth $1, though. These coins are made of either copper-nickel or brass so they have no extra metal value, and so many were made that they're not worth anything to collectors unless they're in proof or uncirculated condition.
