What are the ways to make your introduction more effective?

first off make eye contact. eye contact is key. also smile at the person, but not overly much( as in not a fake or creepy smile). if you are shaking the persons hand have a firm grip and dont swing his/her arm around. finally listen to them and make sure you note things like name, what they do..etc.
