How polaroid are constructed?

Polaroid cameras utilize instant film that contains multiple layers, including a light-sensitive emulsion layer, a pod of developing chemicals, and a protective layer. When a photo is taken, the film is ejected from the camera, and pressure is applied to the chemical pod, releasing the developing agents.
