Cereal may not be the best thing for an infant as it presents a choking hazard if they have no teeth or have not fully learned how to chew. You could soak it in milk to soften it if you would like. Once they have teeth and are able to chew food themselves, its really a matter of preference. You would like the cereal to be nutritious and preferably low in sugar, but after that the child's own taste preference is crucial.

Start with baby rice cereal , make it as a thin gruel to start with , then thicken as you see how baby tolerates this. Use strained apricots for sweetner. NO HONEY for babies inder one year . If baby is hungry and not sleeping all night, try some really thinned down mashed potatoes.
