Where in the Bible does it mention the concept of going to heaven after death?

The concept of going to heaven after death has never been part of God's purpose. When He created Adam and Eve, they were to live forever on earth in a perfect environment confirmed in Genesis 2: 15-17.

Adam knew that if he did not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and bad that he would not die. That command would have made no sense if he was meant to grow old and die anyway.

According to John 5: 28,29 our hope to live forever on earth is in God's provision of our resurrection. The provision for resurrection of the dead is a magnificent expression of Jehovah's undeserved kindness; it displays his wisdom and power and is a means by which his original purpose regarding the earth will be carried out.

So to answer your question. Heaven is where invisible creatures live, and our planet earth is where visible creatures, that we are, were made to live on. Genesis 1: 27-31 shows the way things took place and why it took place in that way. Verse 31 reads. " After that God saw everything he had made, and look ! it was very good". Not only good but VERY GOOD.

The concept of going to heaven is reserved for a certain amount of chosen ones by God. Revelation 7: 4-8 talks about 144'000 sealed ones. Verse 9-17 talks about a great crowd that will live on earth.

Psalm 37: 29 reads. The righteous will possess the earth, and they will live forever on it.
