Why is AIDS considered the most deadly disease to ever plague mankind?

I'm intrigued that someone has suggested that it is. Avert.org states that 25,000,000 people have lost their lives to AIDS since 1981. I don't mean to be flippant, but that is a mere 892,897 people per year since 1981.

The World Health Organisation says that malaria kills a child every 30 seconds. That 1,000,000 per year lose their life to the disease. So since 1981 that is 28,000,000 people. Or, three million people more died of malaria than died of AIDS.

If AIDS can be resolved by people using condoms then malaria can be resolved by people using mosquito nets over their beds. And you can re-use a mosquito net! I think you should ask the people who said that AIDS was the most deadly disease to plague mankind if they were talking about the whole of mankind, or just overprivileged Westerners who are grateful they never lived through Black Death, the Plague, Spanish Flu or any of the other epidemics that killed off large portions of 'Western' society.

And then organize a fund raiser to get mosquito nets to people in Africa.
