What is the caste sytsem?

The Caste System is a hierarchical social structure traditionally found in India, dividing people into distinct groups based on their birth, occupation, and social status. It consists of four primary categories, known as varnas: Brahmins (priests and scholars), Kshatriyas (warriors and rulers), Vaishyas (traders and agriculturists), and Shudras (laborers and service providers). Additionally, there are numerous sub-castes, or jatis, which further stratify society. Although the caste system has been officially abolished in India, its social and cultural impacts continue to influence contemporary society.
