Dick Bavetta, a former NBA referee, is best known for his long career officiating games for over 39 years, from 1975 to 2014. He became a notable figure in sports for his endurance and was involved in a famous race against player Charles Barkley during the 2007 All-Star Weekend. In 2014, he retired from officiating, and his legacy includes being one of the most recognized referees in Basketball history. As of my last knowledge update in October 2023, he has remained largely out of the public eye.
