Who is as the first highway man?

The first known in the United Kingdom was Jerry Abershawe (1773-1795). He was also the last highway man to have his body put on public display after his execution. Also in the 1700's Abershawe was followed by John Austin and Joseph Blake. Willy Brennan, died 1804 was from Ireland.
