If you write something on your message board how do you know that someone received it?

New Message Alert

Follow these steps to receive an alert about a new message:

1. Sign in.
2. In the blue bar to the left of the page, look under "My pages" and click on "My settings."
3. Under the heading of "email updates," put a checkmark in the box named "Notifications about new messages on my message board."
4. Click on "Save settings" at the bottom of the page.

You will now receive an alert in 2 ways:

1. You will receive an email from Answers.com alerting you that "You have a message from [username of sender] on Answers.com."
2. In the blue bar to the left of the page, just under your username, you will receive an alert: a white envelope followed by the Words "New message!" Click on this to open the message. After reading the message, you have the option of "Reply" or "Delete."

   Note: There is no sound alert on the actual site.
