What habitat needs do alligators and crocodiles need?

A crocodile's habitat is a tropical or subtropical river or swamp. They need prey animals, such as fish and turtles, or they need larger vertebrates that will come to the water's edge to drink.

Crocodiles are found in southeast Asia, northeastern Australia, most of sub-Saharan Africa, and the Americas.
Crocodiles commonly inhabit wetlands, lakes and rivers, especially in biomes where long grass is dispensable, as many of crocodiles' prey live there, like impalas.
