Who is the President of Afghanistan?

Ashraf Ghani is the current President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and has been in office since 2014 September 29. After a controversial election in 2014, Ghani brokered a deal with Abdullah Abdullah in which Abdullah became the Chief Executive of Afghanistan, a newly created position.
