Imhotep served as the chancellor and chief architect to King Djoser during the Third Dynasty of ancient Egypt. He is best known for designing the Step Pyramid at Saqqara, which is considered one of the earliest monumental stone structures. His achievements in architecture, medicine, and administration earned him a reputation as a polymath and a revered figure in ancient Egyptian history, eventually leading to his deification after death.
