How much do Texas state troopers make?

A recruit starts at 33 thousand a year. After you get out of the academy you get 36 thousand a year. After 1 year out of the academy you get off probation and go to 45 thousand a year. I would expect this to change one the Texas Legislature meets in January of 2009. We are expecting to get a substantial pay raise to keep up with the rest of the state
