Is the birthrate in the US higher or lower than that of Brazil?

According to the CIA World Factbook, the birthrate in Brazil is 18.72 births/1,000 population (2008 est.) and the birthrate for the USA is 14.18 births/1,000 population (2008 est.). Therefore, the birthrate in the US is lower than that of Brazil.
