How many times can horses breed?

This depends on the mare and her condition. Usually, it's fine for the mare to be bred up until she's in her early 20s. Anything past this should be considered with a vet's approval first. Generally, larger breeds aren't able to do this, so think twice before breeding your draft horse once she hits 18 or so.
