What is a SALA Block used for?

It is a device used for industrial fall protection (Height Safety). Standardconfigurationis a drum containing wire-rope or high strength synthetic webbing. The drum plays out or retracts the cable/webbing as a worker moves through a verticalenvironment. If the worker should "Slip or Fall", the device senses the downwardacceleration and locks up, preventing the fall. Most devices also include some type of braking/energyabsorbingfunction to limit the forces on the human body and anchorage point of the device.

Was originally designed and used in the early part of the 20thcenturyfor use in the mines in and around SALA Sweden. Still in use today with great reputation as being the best method of "Fall Arrest".
