What role does Abraham play in salvation history?

Abraham was chosen to see the Saviour would be born in His descended and that's what God planned when He said, through your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Abraham Seed, Jesus Christ and only through Jesus Christ all the families of the earth finds salvation and the blessings of God.
