If someone was gay and then became straight will God forgive him?

First of all, it's simply not possible for a gay person to become straight. Sexual orientation is natural and unchangeable.

Secondly, no religion believes God punishes someone simply for the way they were born. So if a person is born gay, no forgiveness is necessary.
