When was the colosus built?

The Colossus of Rhodes was built between 292 and 280 BCE. It was a giant statue of the sun god HeliOS, created to celebrate Rhodes' victory over Cyprus. The statue stood at the entrance of the harbor of Rhodes and was considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World until it was destroyed by an earthquake in 226 BCE.
