Where did papa johns originate?

Papa John's originated in the United States, specifically in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The company was founded in 1984 by John Schnatter, who started by selling pizzas out of a converted broom closet in his father's pub. It quickly grew in popularity and expanded into a national franchise, becoming one of the largest Pizza delivery and carryout chains in the country.
