What is the difference in meaning between 'literature' and Literature?

Fiction is a work of literature but the term Literature encompasses more than just fiction. It refers to all forms of literature, like Drama, Non- Fiction, Flash fiction, prose, poetry, etc.

I once heard that the difference was that "literature" is "nice", but "Literature" (with a capital L) changes your live.
