How do you replace the fan belt on a Ford 2002 4.6L?

Loosen the tensioner pulley, take the old belt off, BE CAREFUL TO ROUTE THE NEW ONE THE SAME WAY, and put the new one on. Make sure you get the tension right or you will have many problems. Don't try to start the car with the belt off.
