Do Jehovah's Witnesses believe that God lives on the planet Alcyone in the Pleiades cluster?

While it may indeed have been the case that The Bible students in the 1800's lacked the full undertanding of Job 38: 31, 32 and that there was a revision of belief as stated in the Watchtower of 1953 which states:

"Incidentally, Pleiades can no longer be considered the center of the universe and it would be unwise for us to try to fix God's throne as being at a particular spot in the universe. Were we to think of the Pleiades as his throne we might improperly view with special veneration that cluster of stars"

The fact that Jehovah's Witnesses have in the past made mistakes in interpretation of scripture and have humbly recognised and corrected their vision when the need arose only bears testimony to the progressive nature of their worship.

You need to check your history. The belief is documented for 62 years beginning in 1891. It was not until 1953 that the Watchtower finally admitted this was a mistake.

It's in their own literature, no need to refer to worldly sources: around the time your grandparents became Jehovah's Witnesses, refer to THE WATCHTOWER, 15 JUNE 1915, Page 185 where it refers to Job 38:31, 32.

Watchtower is always making progress. Views change, new things are learned. and I have never heard of that either. Maybe it was a misunderstanding. I plan to do research on the matter.

I have been baptised as a Jehovah's Witness for 20 years. My parents are Jehovah's Witnesses. Their parents are Jehovah's Witnesses, and my mother's grandparents became Jehovah's Witnesses around the time of the first world war, and I have never heard any such idea expressed.

Firstly always remember Watchtower 1955 1st June p333, 'the governing body of the ''faithful and discreet slave'' class, which is under the direct supervision of Christ Jesus',

With that in mind I find it hard to believe that Jehovah and Jesus would allow his people to believe such a thing. However if it was printed in the Society's literature and therefore one of our beliefs then it must have been for some purpose to test our faith in the 'slave' class.
