Where is the coolant sensor in a Mercedes E220 CDI?

top front of the engine is a black plastic cover with a tri star on it. it is held by a hook on the right , so remove it by pulling it upwards from the left, GENTLY, and feeling where it is clipped on. the sensor is beneath cant miss it. good luck
