On August 27, 2010, you will probably be able to see the planets Venus, Mars and Saturn forming a nice triangle in the western sky just after sunset. All three planets will have set by about 9 PM. (No, Mars will not look as big as the Moon tonight! That's a cruel hoax. Mars is a moderately bright reddish dot in the western sky at sunset.)
The Moon will rise about 2 hours after sunset, and the planet Jupiter will rise shortly afterwards.
There are always meteors, especially if you live in a fairly dark-sky area. They are sometimes difficult to see amid city lights.
