How do dogs react to thunder?

Well, I should tell you... because I have a dog. Her name is Shadow and she is 6 years old. I don't know why I told you that, but I thought it was important. Well, most dogs think thunder is going to hurt their owner or personally, themselves. So, they hide under things, such as a bed, behind a couch to try to protect themselves. Sometimes, dogs just may bark at it because they want it to stop and try to protect their owners.
