Why do you desire to make a job change?

Part of it is always the old "grass is always greener on the other side of the fence" thing. However sometimes people simply don't enjoy what they are doing for a living or feel that there is no prospect for advancing in the career they are in. One of the most common reasons given is "more money" but as a former personnel manager I can assure you that people changing jobs simply for more money will change often and rarely make any REAL money.

Try to figure out what kind of work you would really enjoy and then prepare for it. Working for a temp service may give you some exposure to different konds of work while maintaining some stability in your life. Another option that has been good for many is a stint in the military. Get some education dedicated to help you suceed in that vocation. Once you get some experience in the field and can present a good resume you can shop for a job with better benefits and more money.
