My seven year old is on a swim team and on average they swim 1500 to 2000 yards a day. Is this too much and what would be an appropriate amount?

my name is Annie and i am on a varsity swim team and i have some thoughts on your question. First off, your SEVEN year old is on a swim team? wow i guess i really do live in a sheltered area, and second of all, you should know that I swim 3000 yard practices in the ninth grade. so ya 1500 to 2000 is a lot of yardage or a 7 year old, but that kinda depends. if your child is handling it well then i wouldn't worry about, just ask the coach how your child is doing periodicly to make sure that he/she is doing okay with that many yards:) best of luck
