The Prime Meridian is about 12,000 miles long. It joins the north and south
poles, crossing territory in England, France, Spain, Algeria, Mali, Burkina Faso,
Togo, Ghana, and Antarctica. There are literally thousands of cities, towns,
villages, hamlets, and other population centers of all shapes and sizes along
and either side of that imaginary line.
